CIMR Mission Requirements Document v4

This is the official fourth release of the CIMR Mission Requirements Document (MRD v4), prepared by ESA, including contributions of the Mission Advisory Group.

The MRD is a key reference document for the CIMR mission.

CIMREx19 Final Report

The final report of the CIMREx19 flight campaign. The CIMREx campaign took place between February 28-March 11, 2019. The first data were collected during initial transitions from Akureyri, Iceland, via Greenland, to the main campaign site at Svalbard. Three dedicated data collection flights were carried out around Svalbard on March 7 and 8.

EU Polar Expert Group - Report #3

In 2020, DG DEFIS decided to pursue the PEG activities (with the so-called PEG III) with European and Canadian experts supported by ESA, EUMETSAT, EEA and a major H2020 on-going project, KEPLER (Key Environmental monitoring for Polar Latitudes and  European Readiness). This report is the result of six iterations between the Polar Expert Group members throughout the period of July to December 2020/January 2021.

Report from Joint ESA-NASA Cryopshere-Ocean-Land-Ecosystems CIMR Science Workshop

The Joint Cryopshere-Ocean-Land-Ecosystems CIMR Science Workshop was held in Arcadia, California from August 13-15, 2019. The objective of the workshop is to document the potential utility of the CIMR mission for NASA earth science programs, which can be used to develop potential NASA contributions to a collaborative ESA-NASA CIMR mission. The report holds summaries and recommendations from the workshop.

CMEMS Position paper : Polar and snow cover applications

A position paper authored by the Copernicus Marine Environment Monitoring Service (CMEMS), as input to the User Requirement Workshop held by EU in Brussels on 23rd June 2016.

This position paper explores the requirements of CMEMS in terms of polar monitoring.

EU Polar Expert Group - Report #2

Early 2017, EU DG-GROW appointed a group of European experts with the mandate to update and/or complete the review and analysis of the users’ needs for a mission dedicated to Polar Ice and Snow monitoring.

This is the second report. It defines high-level mission requirements of the dedicated Polar and Snow Missions.

In this final report, PEG recommends to retain as first priority the proposed Imaging PMR concept, implemented by CIMR.
